What is a lay summary?
A lay summary is a brief and clear explanation of research written for non-experts. It uses simple language, without oversimplifying scientific concepts, to convey purpose, methods, results, and relevance, making complex information accessible and understandable to the general public.
Why me?
With over 25 years as a technology journalist, I have received awards for my incisive coverage of emergency services communications technology. This work sparked a deep interest in crime and policy, leading me to explore the intricacies of forensic psychology and criminal profiling. My passion for understanding complex human behaviours propelled me to pursue an MSc in Psychology, Neuroscience & Mental Health at King’s College London, where I earned a post-graduate diploma. Today, as a seasoned science journalist, I specialise in decoding complex and esoteric subjects, making them accessible and engaging for broad audiences.
